Active Learning and Sketchnoting
Design is a collaborative endeavor. Its process feeds on the energy created during the open discussion of ideas and feedback exchange. The atmosphere of collaboration is best assisted by creating an environment where there is trust, openness, and camaraderie are present. To facilitate this atmosphere, engaging group activities are planned throughout the semester. Some of these include: group graphic notation in large pieces of paper to discuss readings, Q&A groups, impromptu oral presentations, group sketching, and lastly visual note taking that can be shared and discussed in class. Below are photos of some of these activities in my classes.
